We see ourselves as an alternative to, although not necessarily as
competition for, the big commercial law firms in Germany. In many
respects we are similar to these firms: we require that our lawyers are
highly qualified; we specialise in relatively few areas of law; we are
academically and research orientated.
Each of our lawyers regularly takes part in, or even gives, themselves,
legal lectures or classes. Our lawyers work exclusively within their
areas of specialisation. The majority of our lawyers are also involved
in academic research and are the authors of legal publications. We have
a bang up to date communications system within the office and highly
professional practice management.
In some respects, however, we are different from these larger law
firms. We know that many clients prefer to deal with a somewhat smaller
commercial law firm, to know "their lawyer" personally, to know that
there are no organisational hierarchies and that things are done in the
most straightforward way possible.
The decision to keep our firm small does entail some limitations. We do
not claim to be able to do absolutely everything. In such cases, we
work together with other law firms and tax accountants – of course,
with the client's agreement.
We are entirely independent of any other law firms. As such, we are
free, in each individual case, to choose the best-qualified person to
work with or to recommend. |
